QUILT PREP

Please ensure the quilt backing that you provide with your quilt top is 8” longer than your quilt top and 5” wider that your quilt top. This allows placement on the longarm frame and adjustment of the top to the top prior to quilting. See instructions below for shipping instructions if you ship your quilt to us.

SERVICES AND RATES

Design

We provide edge-to-edge free motion design quilting at $1.00 per inch of the longest side of your top. For example: Your quilt top is 70” by 85” (typical twin size). 85 x $1.00 = $85.00.

We want you to love your quilt when it is done! After all you have spent a lot of time on design selection and making of your personal treasure! We spend a lot of time deciding on the appropriate free motion design that will blend into your quilt to not detract from your design and will discuss this with you when we receive your quilt.

Batting

There is no extra fee for the batting, it is included in your quilting design price. We stock the following lightweight battings: 

-Pellon Cotton/Polyester 80/20, off white batting.

-Pellon Natural Cotton, off white batting.

-Pellon Wool Blend, white batting.

We can also order other batting if preferred, such as polyester bamboo or soy.

Thread

There are no extra fees for thread use, it is included in your square inch price. Our personal style is to attempt to match or blend thread color with the lighter colors of your quilt. But this is your quilt? So let us know if you have a preference of thread color.

ADDITIONAL FEES (OPTIONAL):

Squaring up/Trimming: If you want us to square up or trim your quilt after it is quilted, it is a $10 flat fee.

Binding: If you want us to make your binding so that it is ready for you to attach, it is a $10 flat fee.

Front-side stitch binding by machine to your quilt: $0.15 per linear inch.

Front-side stitch and back-side stitch binding by machine to your quilt: $0.75 per linear inch.

Front-side stitch binding by machine and back-side stitch by hand: $0.60 per linear inch.

How to figure a linear inch: Add all four sides x the service = the cost.

SHIPPING‍ ‍

We live in Florida and would be happy to receive your top and backing by mail. We recommend sending your materials enclosed within some kind of sack or bag to protect it against possible moisture in transit and placed in a hard-sided cardboard box. Make sure the box is securely taped top and bottom and labeled clearly.

Return shipping: We will send your quilt back to you in the manner described above via United States Postal Service Priority mail using flat rate when possible as it is more economical. Priority mail comes with a tracking number. If you wish, we can include additional insurance at the current rate and will add the amount to your invoice. It is a great idea to insure your valuables against loss or damage while with the Postal Service, but we do not require it.

PAYMENT

After the work is completed, we will invoice you to include the edge-to-edge quilting, batting, any other additional services provided, and applicable tax if batting is purchased from us, and shipping if appropriate. We really do appreciate timely payments as this will enable us to mail your quilt back to you right away or make plans for you to pick it up locally.
